Incorporation Session 9 - Corporations (Part 1)
The series picks up pace and we start diving into Corporations. The premier liability shield and oldest form of business. We start out talking about the history of Corporations in America and go right back to how it all started. During this portion, the strengths of this form of business is illustrated perfectly. Kevin explains the very first corporation, dating back to 1670 which is still in business today.
We define a "Corporation" which in its simplest form, is a "Person" separate from those who own it. Separate being the key word here, as we were taught in the previous series a sole proprietor and partnership is not separate from the business owner in a legal position. Kevin explains all of the characteristics of Corporations that make them such a powerful legal tool.
There's more to discuss with Corporations, part I introduces the Corporation and discusses the general information. As this series progresses, more and more depth will be covered on each topic.
